Every 2nd Counts - Just Saying Hi!

Here is a quick card that I pulled together to send to a friend.  I was able to use papers from my scrap pile!  The cute tag is actually from a stamp set I picked up at my local Wal-mart from Studio G (item #WM0132).  I wanted the "HI" to stand out so after I stamped it in black to get the outline, I stamped it again in lime green.  I cut the word bubble out and went in with a thin black marker and outlined the letters to make the pop.  I adhered the tag and heart elements to the card base using pop dots.

I hope you enjoyed this cute little card!  Happy crafting!

Supplies:
Card Base - Blue Dot Paper Shop White | Card measures 4.25" x 4.25"
Patterned Paper - DCWV
Sentiment - Studio G Clear Stamp Set Item # WM0132
Ink - Stazon Jet Black and Memento Pear Tart
Punch - Martha Stewart Heart Punch
Accessories - White String and pop dots
Black Pen - Black Sharpie Calligraphic Pen

Time 2 Party - Halloween Treat Bags

I made these cute little Halloween treat bags for my daughter's daycare Halloween Party to give to the other kids in her classroom.  I used the Trellis bag from SVG Cuts Tied Surprise Gift Boxes SVG Collection.

I did modify the cut file to make it a little taller to hold some Halloween pencils.  The original bag stands around 4" tall, but I made my bags 7.5" tall.  Since I made so many of these, I decided to go with double sided Halloween paper so I could cut the top and base all out of one sheet of 12x12 card stock.  I also used hot glue to assemble the bags and reinforced the bottom with a solid black piece of card stock to make sure it would hold up under all the weight of my goodies going in each bag!!

I think they turned out super cute!  What do you think?

Patterned Paper - K&Company Spook-tacular Designer Paper 12x12 Collection

Time 2 Party - Haunted House Table Decoration

I may be the last crafter on the planet to discover SVGCuts.com!  The 3D creations from Mary are great.  She is super talented.  I love how she tapes an assembly video for each 3D object in a kit and provides helpful hints.  I thought this Haunted House from the Elmhurst Hallow SVG Kit would look cool as a table decoration for Halloween.  It was fun to put it together right along with Mary!  Hope you enjoy!

Every 2nd Counts - Halloween Treat Box

While shopping today at Michaels, I found a Recollections Midnight Magic Signature Die Cut Shape paper stack on clearance for $9.99.  I picked it up to possibly use the little pre-made tags on some future projects.  When I got stack home and flipped through all the pages I came across this cute coffin treat box.  All I had to do was score on the indicator lines and fold!  It came together in just minutes.  I used some of the other die cut shapes from the stack to decorate the front of the treat box.  I am very pleased with how it came out.  I was inspired by the Twilight Saga since I watched Eclipse earlier today!!

There are 3 other coffin die cut shapes that I plan to assemble and decorate a little differently!

Supplies:
Patterned Paper - Recollections Midnight Magic Signature Die Cut Shape paper stack
Punches - Martha Stewart 3 Mini Bats Punch and Heart Confetti Punch
Ribbon - Martha Stewart Craft Seam Binding 1/2" in Brick Color

Time 2 Party - Happy Birthday Butterfly Banner

My dear friend Roni came through for me!!  She captured some great photos of the Happy Birthday banner I did for my daughter's party.  The large butterflies came from Joann's.  I got them 30% off regular price since they were part of the Halloween costume clearance sale!

I made the pennants using a basic banner shapes from the Letter Delights Royal Wedding SVG Set.  I added the holes to thread the ribbon through in the cut file using MTC so all of the pennants would be exactly the same.  I used LD Enquirer font for the actual letters that spell out Happy Birthday.

I added a few vellum butterflies to some of the pennants for visual interest.  The butterflies were cut using DB Butterflies DoodleBat Font.

All patterned paper used for the pennants came from My Mind's Eye Deena's Penny Lane Glitter Collection.

I hope you enjoyed this banner idea.  Happy crafting!!

I just realized that I didn't take a picture of the Happy Birthday banner I also created.  I hope that my Mom or my friend Roni got a good picture so I can share with you guys as well.

Joy's Life Altered Composition Book Blog Hop

Happy Friday!!  I am glad you are here for this Altered Composition Book Blog Hop hosted by Joy!

I decided that I needed to have a book that I could carry with me to and from work to help keep track of my sketch ideas and color combinations that hit me throughout the day.  I work in the printing industry so fresh layouts and color combos come across my desk almost on a daily basis.  Sounds great right??  Well it would be great if I had all my supplies with me at work and I could crank something out as the ideas hit me, but sadly that is not the case and most of my ideas get lost somewhere in my head by the time the weekend comes and I am able to be crafty.  This book will help me be more organized with my thoughts.  I can quickly sketch out a card or scrapbook layout or even tape down color combo swatches throughout the day and have everything available in one place when I get the chance to play!

Supplies:
Patterned Paper - Graph Paper
Diecut Images - Lettering Delights Fonts = SNF Sketchy and LD Chaplin
Pen - Black Sharpie Writer and White Gel Pen
Equipment/Software - Black Cat Cougar 24"Make-the-Cut

Here is a complete listing of all the stops along this hop.  You will be heading to Amanda's site next!

1.  Leave a comment on this post. (You must be a blog follower for entry to count.)
2.  "Like" my Facebook comment "Two Peas Please". (You must be a Facebook follower for entry to count.)

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday - Mr & Mrs

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday featuring Joy's Life Everyday Occasions Clear Stamp Set.

I am so in love with Joy's new stamp sets!!  These are a must have in your "go-to" stamp collection.  I don't know about you, but I have a few stamp sets that I always leave out that have basic sentiments so I can crank out a card a the last minute.  I really love how these new stamps mix font styles and the greetings are larger.  This allows you to make a statement with the sentiment.  That is what I did with the "congratulations" sentiment on this card.  I stamped it multiple times in VersaMark and set it with clear embossing powder to create a subtle background for the MR & MRS die cut letters.  I apologize that the photo is not that great as I was trying to get the light to catch the embossed areas.  I think you get the idea though!!

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday - Pirate Greetings

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday featuring Joy's Life You're So Punny Clear Stamp Set.

Today's card was inspired by this new cartoon on the Disney channel called Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  Wow...how an adult's TV watching habits change after having kids!! Anyway...there is this cute little skull & crossbones icon on the boat flag and gold coins that I just had to make and pair with Joy's "Ahoy Matey" stamp.  I actually found a skull that looked like the one from the show in the new Lettering Delights Rockstar SVG Set.  I modified it slightly in MTC by removing the nose and making one eye socket larger than the other.  I also created a drop shadow layer for the cut in MTC and used by Cougar to cut out each layer.  I created the red and white background paper by using VersaMark to stamp the Hero Arts Stripes Pattern background image on red paper and embossed with white embossing powder.  I layered everything together on the card base using pop dots.  This card was created in under 10 minutes and I was able to use up some more of my scrap paper!

I hope you enjoyed this card.  Be sure to check out the other design team creations by visiting Joy's Life.
