Over the last few weeks I have been really trying to nail down the technique for print-and-cut using MTC software and my Black Cat Cougar. It would work every now and then. After many hours testing, I have discovered that my PNC mishaps were being caused by my printer. I sent an email to Epson's tech support only to find out that they do not have a calibration feature to fine tune the paper feed guides of my printer. So to solve the problem, I now print my images on a 4.25 x 5.5 sheet of card stock. Using the smallest paper possible allows a perfect PNC and it saves on paper!!
Below is an example of my PNC using the smaller paper technique. I found a cup image on the web and performed a pixel trace/set as texture twice to get the entire cup and isolate the lid. I printed both out on one 4.25 x 5.5 sheet of card stock and my Cougar cut it out perfectly. I didn't even need to use my scissors to trim off any white areas!!
I really enjoy PNC cards and I am so glad I finally figured out how to get the perfect cut. I hope you found this post helpful.
