I was asked by a friend to make a birthday card for a little girl who will be turning three. I was told the girl loves butterflies and the color purple. With not much to go on, I opened my Paper Crafts Magazine that had just come in the mail to see if anything would inspire me. I was in luck because the issue had several cards featuring butterflies. I really loved the simplicity of Teri's card so I decided to see if I could make it work for my needs.
I used the Oh Hello Flutter SVG set from Lettering Delights. After sizing the butterfly images in MTC, I used several papers from LD Peep Paper Pack as a texture to fill in each butterfly so I could print and cut using my Epson printer and Black Cat Cougar. I stamped "Happy Birthday" on the card base and adhered the butterflies around the sentiment. I used an alphabet set to stamp the number "3" next to "happy" and just wrote in the "rd" with a black sharpie pen to complete sentiment.
Here is a closer look at how I layered and dressed up the purple butterfly.
I love butterflies too so I am sure I will be making this card layout again!!
