E2C Hello Card

I was in a mood to make a card today.  As I was looking through my 6x6 paper pads to find some inspiration, I found this beautiful floral paper from the September Skies collection by Heidi Swapp.  The flowers just called for a butterfly so I was off to search Cricut Design Space for a butterfly to cut out.  I used my new Anna Griffin dies to cut out the Hello sentiment.  The gold cardstock that I used to cut out the butterfly and Hello sentiment was from my scrap bin.  This card is super cute and it was assembled in under 5 minutes.

Thanks for checking out my card.  Have a great day!

P2P Bounce

With this layout, I really stepped out of my comfort zone.  I used a frame to accent one of the photos and I used wood veneer elements.  I like frames and wood elements on pages I see on Facebook and Pintrest but I just can't seem to make them work for my pages.  I was determined to put together a page using items that would challenge me in order to take layering embellishments to the next level.

I didn't have any other elements in my stash that had the same color of gold glitter like the Freckled Fawn frame so I decided to mix several gold Martha Stewart glitters together on a piece of paper I ran through my Xyron machine to make my own glitter paper that I was able to punch hearts out of in order to accent my page and carry that look to other areas.

Thanks for checking out my page.  Have a great day!

Supplies:
Page - Measures 12" x 12"
Patterned Paper - Background is White Colorbok Cardstock from Walmart and patterned papers are from the Pink Paisley Atlas paper pad, Crate Paper assorted paper pad and Heidi Swapp Favorite Things 6x6 paper bad

P2P My Craft Buddy

Practice, practice, practice...I am still working on my layering.  I have now taken the second self-paced online class Layering Like a Boss 2 by Victoria Marie.  In this class, she taught how to layer embellishments using color, texture and scale along with basic design principles like the first class.  I have really enjoyed taking these classes.  Both classes really compliment each other and I found them very helpful with learning how to layer on my scrapbook pages.

Here is another page I created trying to put together all that I have learned so far.  One of the most challenging parts of creating this page is how limited my supplies are when it comes to die-cuts and stickers.  I have paper and paper and more paper.  You can even see some the paper in the photo of my daughter that I am scrapbooking.  I did subscribe to Freckled Fawn recently to build up my embellishment supplies and I love the variety in their monthly kits but I do not have much in my stash at this time.  So I had to use my paper pads and punches to create most of the layering elements below.

Thanks for checking out my page.  Have a great day!

P2P First Tooth

I mentioned in my last Page 2 Page post that I would like to learn how to layer better.  I decided to take an active step towards learning so I purchased the self-paced online class Layering Like a Boss by Victoria Marie.  In the class, she went over basic layering techniques and page design principles. One of the page design principle was the basic grid layout.  I am very drawn to grid designs but I have failed to pull off a pleasing look in my past attempts.  Armed with information from the class, I put this page together to document Makenna's first tooth.  I will need to keep practicing in order to feel more comfortable layering in a more natural and pleasing way, but I do really like how this page turned out in the end.

Thanks for checking out my page.  Have a great day!

E2C Congratulations Card

I purchased a Bella Blvd. mystery box last year and it contained some cute paper from the Love and Marriage collection.  Having coordinating papers and elements made it so easy to pull this card together for a friend that is getting married next weekend.  It probably took me less that 10 minutes to create.

I fussy cut the pink heart and congratulations banner from a cut apart sheet and I used my punch to cut out the people icons from a piece of patterned paper.  The 3" aqua heart background shape I used as the grounding spot for the card elements is a sticker from the sticker sheet.  After layering all the elements the way I wanted, I popped it up off the card base using foam tape.  The patterned paper I used for the card base had one line that included "now and forever" text in the middle of tiny hearts.  I missed the text at first glance when I was picking the papers for this card.  I thought it was so cute, I decided to position the grounding square just above the text so it could become part of the overall sentiment of the card.

Thanks for checking out my card.  Have a great day!

P2P What's for lunch?

I am still trying to get the hang of scrapbooking.  I have some pictures printed of Makenna's first 2 years that I am working through and trying to develop my own style.  I have come along way since my first page in my opinion.  I still want to become more comfortable layering and adding embellishments.

The photos I selected were of Makenna a week or so after she turned 1 eating a big helping of beefaroni.  At the time, this was here favorite meal so I wanted to make sure I got this memory in her album.

I started this layout with a few pattern papers from my stash and a set of freckled fawn embellishments that I thought coordinated.

I have very little in my stash in the way of thickers or alphas so I typically use my Cricut Explore to cut out the letters for my title.  To pick up the black doodle line on the heart embellishment, I took a black pen and drew lines within the letters to give them character.  I also drew lines around the perimeter of the page.

I created 3 embellishments clusters and tried to repeat colors but vary the texture and shapes.  I stamped the journaling lines and splatters some white acrylic paint around the page.

Here is my finished page.

E2C My Valentine Card

I haven't made a card in what seems forever.  I threw some Christmas cards together using an Anna Griffin Card kit last month and to be perfectly honest I had to look at the inspiration pieces in the kit because I lost my creative style.  I decided that since the kids are older I could find time for myself to create more cards this year.  I even sat down and wrote out all the cards I would need to make the entire year to cover all holidays, birthdays and anniversaries.  That is a tall order and I am not expecting to make all of them but at least it is a starting point.

Here is my first card of 2017.  I am easing back into this craft with this clean and simple Valentine's day card.

Supplies:
Card Base - Card measures 4.25" x 5.5" (top folding)
Patterned Paper - Studio 112 Blue Mini Tag Pad
Sentiment - Studio G
Embosssing folder - Provo Craft Cuttlebug Hearts background
Ink - VersaMark
Circle Punch - EK Success 1.5"
Accessories -Unknown Red Embossing Powder

My daughter (age 6) punched a scrap from an embossing fail and stuck it to a card base from a card kit I had given her to play with.  I think it looks so good!  What do you think?

Have a great day!
